Financial Dating TM evolved during a time when I was experiencing a lot of anxiety.  Having been married for only nine months, my husband and I were faced with the challenge of blending two very different financial styles.  He had high debt and no personal or retirement savings.  We had acquired credit card debt together, from traveling overseas and financing home improvement projects.  Both of us felt overwhelmed, and struggled with how to change our situation. 

The turning point occurred when we began committing to weekly Financial Dates.  Our intention during these meetings was to create a sacred space of connection and calm, while setting achievable, bite-size financial goals. 

As a result of having Financial Dates we pulled ourselves out of high credit card debt, fully funded our retirement plans, doubled our income, learned how to create a supportive listening environment, and experienced a deepening commitment and strength as a couple.
